What's Next For The Pittsburgh Steelers After Winning Super Bowl XL ?
This Pittsburgh Steelers team has a chance to be ranked with the great Steelers teams of the 1970s. They have already signed 18 of 22 starting players for next season. There are only four starters who may become free agents: receiver Antwaan Randle El, defensive end Kimo von Oelhoffen, cornerback Deshea Townsend and safety Chris Hope. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has matured over the last two years and gained much needed playoff and Super Bowl experience. I don't think that after what this Steelers team had to go through to get to Super Bowl XL, that they'll be resting on their laurels. "This will make coach (Bill) Cowher even hungrier," defensive end Aaron Smith said. "He will enjoy this, but come next season he'll be even hungrier to get back here." The Steelers offensive coordinator, Ken Whisenhunt is being considered for the Oakland raiders head coaching job and would be a hard man to replace. The core of the Steelers will remain intact, but the inspirational leadership of "the Bus", Jerome Bettis will be missing in the locker room. you can bet those "terrible towels"will be flying and reminding them that they are the defending Super Bowl champions. Get the rest of the story. That's Pittsburgh Steelers news.
