Batch Can't Put His Finger On it,But Still Hands The Browns A 34-21 Defeat!
Charlie Batch in his second start for the Steelers is 2-0 with a 34-21 win over the Cleveland Browns. He played surprisingly well until late in the fisrt half when he broke a bone in his pinky finger on an opposing player's helmet. He had just completed a record breaking pass to Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward when the injury occured. Batch continued to played and led Pittsburgh on another scoring drive before the half expired. His 1 yard touchdown run gave the Steelers a 17-7 lead at half-time. Batch was replace by former back-up Tommy Maddox and is expected to be side-lined for a couple of weeks. If Ben Roethlisber can't go Nov. 20 against Baltimore, then Maddox will have to start. Wide receiver Antwaan Randle El threw the longest pass of the game, a 51 yard touchdown to Hines Ward. Get the rest of the story.
