Steelers Defeat The Bengals 31-17 To Advance In The Playoffs To Meet The Colts
The Pittsburgh Steelers played physical football to strong arm the Cincinnati Bengals and advance in the AFC playoffs. The Steelers must continue on the road and play the Indianapolis Colts in the RCA Dome, the site of Pittsburgh's worst loss this season. The 31-17 win over the Bengals was aided by an injury to Bengal quarterback, Carson Palmer early in the game. Ben Roethlisberger played with more confidence and poise than in last years playoff loss. He threw for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interception. He threw 3 interceptions against the Patriots in the playoffs a year ago. The "Bus", Jerome Bettis led the team in rushing yards and ran for a touchdown and a couple of important 1st downs on 3rd an short. The defense sacked Kitna 3 times and intercepted him twice. Now they must concentrate on preparing for Peyton Manning and the Colts.
